I don't know about you, but I'm finding it increasingly difficult to find really nice bits and pieces in the charity shops these days. So, it was with some surprise that I noticed this little dish in one of the local charity shop windows. The gorgeous pink colour drew my attention.
Got a closer look when the lady took it out of the window for me and my suspicions were confirmed - it was a Royal Winton piece.
The pattern is Petunia.
I love the shape of the dish, the colours and the pretty flowers. A lovely Thursday surprise.
Love, Liz

Lucky you! I would have broken into a light run if I'd seen that. I've been in four or five charity shops this morning and not a dicky bird. I'm most disappointed! I think you just have to be lucky. And you certainly were with that little dish. It's very pretty, I love it!
xx
There's not much in the charity shops these days to buy apart from books! You sure found a lovely item though!

The colour reminds me of strawberry blancmange from my childhood, very pretty find.
I agree! It's like a hit and miss and you never know from one day to the next!
This is such a cutie...I love pink and I can't wait to be back in Scotland to visit the charity shops for books and stuff. But you are so right it's getting more and more difficult to find something nice..

Hi Liz,
love your posts. Lots of greetings from a scotish heart to a scotish lady. A lot of my family live in scotland - glasgow. my ma is born in glasgow and she´s a really scotish lady living in germany, without loosing her accent...haha...
Best wishes to you and your family

very pretty indeed, you definitely couldn't leave it behind
simply gorgeous!
Lucky you, what a steal! Royal Winton pieces are hardly ever in the charity shops. The petunia range is really pretty, the pink is such a lovely shade.
A beautiful little dish. I enjoy your china finds.
Really pretty!
To brighten your weekend I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award :)

Liz what a beauty!
It is indeed rare to find good vintage pieces now - most of the stuff is modern and uninspiring, and the few vintage pieces are often overpriced. I saw a yellow teaset today in one charity shop, the plain design that was everywhere in the 50s/60s (I remember my Granny had a set!)in either green, blue or yellow (cant think of the make)and they wanted £99 for it!
Well done its lovely!

ur right liz *sigh* getting harder to find good pieces nowadays :( i love the pinkness of your bowl :) and a Royal Winton!
Hello Liz
I totally agree with you it is difficult to find nice bits of china at reasonable prices in flea markets or op shops. BUT! when we do doesn't it make that buy so much special? I love this little dish you have found it is a lovely pink and not too gaudy with masses of flowers...very dainty.
Lucky you!
Amanda :-)
