These books belonged to my sons when they were little and bring back some wonderful memories of Christmas time when we were all together. I can't bring myself to give them away. I offered them to my son who has children of his own, but he said they were too old fashioned! (He's obviously not the sentimental type!) Is Santa ever old fashioned????
Anyway, I still love them, even although they bring a little tear to my eyes as I think of happier times and the wonderful excitement that Christmas used to bring to our home.
I love the images of Santa and his elfs getting the presents ready to deliver.

I can’t believe your son did not want those books. The stories never date!!!Are you able to read them to your grandchildren?Treasure them.

Old fashioned? Surely not, they are absolutely gorgeous, and precious too! xxx
Your son might be surprised, if he shows his kids the books, says these were mine when I was your age, and then reads the books to them they might love them. Or if you see the kids you could do the same and offer them the books directly. They are family treasures.
Merry Christmas Liz!
Those old fashioned books are the best. Luckily for me our daughter is very nostalgic and has the old books.
Thanks for the interesting blog as I enjoy reading the posts.
Take Care and all the best in 2022!

I wouldn’t part with them either Liz if they were mine. The illustrations are wonderful and I don’t see they are dated either but then I suppose My taste is vintage as well LOL! I also have a small hoard of books that my daughter and my grand-daughter used to read . I am holding on to them for my great-grandchildren. Have a wonderful Christmas. Amanda x
I love the older or vintage Christmas books, Liz. I have a few of these myself. My girls are the same- the just soon leave their childhood books home with me. Which is fine I can enjoy them with the grandbabies. Lol. Have a very Merry Christmas
Oh my goodness, I had that Ladybird book. I still have it and love it. The illustrations are beautiful so I tend to flick through it most years. It's not just for children ;)
Hope you have a lovely Christmas Liz!
