The evening sun was shining making the whole place glow beautifully.
Can just imagine what this place must have looked like when it was newly built, must have been really impressive to see.
Of course cathedrals were built to inspire awe and wonder - still works for me today! You can read more about this beautiful building at York Minster website. Such a beautiful place.
Joining with Inspired Sunday - come and have a look at lots of churches from all over the world.

Such glowing detail!
You were there at just the right time. You could have convinced us that it was built of gold! So many interesting carvings and statures.
Oh it is beautiful Liz! I love the immensity and detail of cathedrals-so much skill and dedication! We went to a wedding at Lincoln Cathedral in July and it was breathtaking!x
I can remember being impressed by it when we visited York, lovely photos.
Wow, such amazing architecture!
I used to visit York frequently in the 1970s and the Minister was always impressive - love that gargoyle.
Liz, magnificent details. Thanks for sharing.
Really,
At the time it was an awesome place. Today it is too.
Very good images. Excellent light.
Have a nice day.

( I have come here via Inspired Sunday)
I remember from my visit last year how beautiful it was, a very impressive building.
Hi Liz! So nice to have a visit from you! YES! Incredibly fast summer. Hate to let it go. Looks like you visited some lovely spots though. Oh how I would love to take in some sights like this cathedral!
what a beauty. thank you for sharing at InSPIREd Sunday. ( :
have a great week!
Yes very impressive and a beautiful colour with the sun on it.

It IS a beautiful cathedral, always a pleasure to visit, and you've photographed it really well. Wonderful. I do find York Minster a little sterile inside though, compared to others. And expensive (though not as bad as Westminster or St Paul's!).
A beautiful series. Thanks for sharing this marvelous building and its decorate art work.
What superb photos you took of the mister, you caught it on a wonderful day
