It is a pretty little vintage embroidered tray cloth.
I love the soft pastel colours and the pretty edging. The embroidery is beautifully worked.
It is destined to go on my dressing table - should look
lovely.

I feel your pain with ironing for blog photos. Gorgeous embroidery though, so it's worth doing :)

So, so pretty - another lovely find!
Have a good week,

Hi there, I have some pretty tray cloths etc my mum embroidered during the war. How do you launder yours to get the lovely finish that you have. I'm scared to damage mine but they need freshening/whitening up. Any info would be great. Thank you.

Just gorgeous Liz !

Very lovely!
Such beautiful intricate hand stitching. lovely. x
So, so pretty! I love that delicate embroidery.
Isn't that pretty! What a nice way to start your day looking at that on your dressing table every morning.
Gorgeous photographs and such lovely embroidery! I wish I could sew as beautifully as that. I bet it will look stunning on your dressing table :) xx
So beautiful. Funny to think that at one time, everyone had tray cloths and runners and tablecloths and napkins, often hand-embroidered, and now, hardly anyone uses them. I love old linens like this. xxxx
Lovely embroidery! I'd also be interested to know if you have any washing tips Liz. I've just bought some ammonia to try and remove rust from a garment. And I have a fruit juice stain on a vintage dress. x
I am rather partial to a nice bit of embroidery...very pretty purchases
Best wishes
Jenny
I love thinking about the ladies who spent so long creating these. Or gentlemen. I have some sewn by a talented Welshman.
