Pretty Charity Shop Find

I'm very pleased with my weekend charity shop finds, especially this lovely little collection of vintage Royal Vale cups and saucers.

They are so pretty.

Have you noticed that some charity shops seem to think that they are antique shops?  I saw some pieces that had tags with full description of piece, a circa date at an absolutely astronomical price!

Hope you had some good (bargain) finds this weekend.

Love, Liz

Dear Liz
Yet more lovely finds and very appropriate for the time of year - my violets are budding up as we speak. I went to our local antiques centre town and found some lovely bargains too. I have just written a post about them.
Doesn't it make you feel good when you find something lovely?
Best wishes
Ellie

More lovely china to add to your marvellous collection, to hire out or to keep?!

Lovely, where do you keep all that china? Do you display it? :) x

They are indeed pretty and the shape is very unusual - or does it looks so because it's upside down?

Oh how beautiful! Lovely colours. I know what you mean about charity shops thinking they are run by Antiques Roadshow experts. I'm lucky to have a few charity shops near me that still operate at reasonable prices but the closer to Sheffield city centre I get the higher the prices go! x

Very pretty china.

Beautiful! If I have another girl I'd call her Violet! They were my Mum's absolute favourite flower.
Yes, some of the op shops here have got themselves an'expert' who comes in and tells them what to charge for things. How unfortunate for us!

Indeed, I have been rather impressed at the knowledge some opshops have! They're really quite onto it now, bargains are few and far between! This print is SO gorgeous!
Thank you for your lovely comments recently, I am pleased to "meet" you! XXX

Thankfully i haven't seen an op-shop morph into an antiques shop here yet. If it did...i dont think charity shopping would be for me anymore! More pretty china, must make it hard to pick a cup when you boil the kettle?!!

Hello Liz!

Your cups are truly pretty and, oh, oh, I've just acquired a violet teacup too! Don't you just love violets?

Happy week to you.

Really pretty, Liz and such a beautiful colour. I've never got over the ghastly sheep ornament that I saw in the window of a charity shop priced at £99 (that's 99 pounds). No explanation of what it was - just the price tag. I was so curious that I had to go in and ask. It was Victorian or something and really quite ugly. xx

They really were a find. I love the lavender colour, so delicate and pretty.

Oh, I love these little teacups! Anything with violets on it would be scooped up by me in a flash! I went to the flea market on Sunday and was thoroughly disappointed in the prices of most of the china and glassware. I left it all on the dusty shelves ... overpriced and destined to sit there for many months. Wendy

Oh so pretty and yes Charity shops are pricing themselves out of the market!
